Chili powder in its natural form does not contain gluten. However, many products on the market contain wheat based by-products, like gluten, to act as fillers. Those who have a gluten allergy, or would like to avoid consuming gluten should always read the nutrition facts label and cross check the listed ingredients on the container to confirm whether or not it may be present.

Gluten is found in products like wheat, barley, and rye. Most chili powders should be safe to consume for people with gluten-related disorders. However, it is always important to read the product label, in case there are trace amounts of gluten. If a spice/ powder contains gluten, it should be labelled as such.
